Many homeowners want to replace their wooden front door with a new, more functional product, but worry about sacrificing the style which comes with traditional wooden doors. Luckily, there is an alternative and our customer in Epsom opted for this during her front door replacement project in March.
The Project – Replacing an Old Wooden Front Door
While wood products were once the most popular choice for front doors, their high maintenance requirements mean it’s difficult to keep them looking at their best and performing well. At this Surrey property, the old front door leaked and was very draughty, letting cold air and moisture into the home. Moreover, it didn’t close properly, reducing both insulation and security for the house. A replacement front door was the only solution.
Our task was to help our homeowner find a product which matched the style of their Tudor style house while providing the functionality which was lacking in the old door. Our biggest challenge was to identify an exact match between the front door glass and side window glass, coming from two different suppliers.
